1. Describe what you want
Type any effect, title, transition, or generator in plain English — as specific or vague as you like. Examples that work well:
- “cinematic lower third with white text and a blurred background bar”
- “soft Gaussian blur with adjustable amount”
- “centered title card with subtitle and a thin underline”
- “dip-to-white transition with a quick flash”
You can also pin specific choices (template type, resolution, visual style, color mood) using the chips below the prompt — they help the model land closer to what you had in mind.
2. Hit Generate
The first time, you’ll be asked to sign in (free, 100 credits to start). After that, every generation runs straight from the workspace at /app.
Templavi spends a moment building a complete Fusion node graph for your description, validates it, and packages it as both a .setting file and a .drfx bundle.
3. Tweak with “Refine”
Close but not perfect? Use Refine to nudge it: “bigger text”, “warmer”, “slower”, “stronger blur”. Refine adjusts existingparameters — colour, size, speed, position, blend. It can’t add new elements or change the structure. For structural changes, generate a fresh template that describes them.
4. Import into Resolve
The easiest path is the .drfx bundle — double-click it and DaVinci Resolve installs the template automatically. It shows up on the Edit page in the matching tab (Effects, Titles, Generators, or Transitions). For more detail on the import flow and the manual path, see the import guide.
5. Find it again later
Every template you generate lives under History for re-download. If a generation comes out wrong, hit “Report this generation” — we keep the file, look at it, and refund the credits when warranted.
